Here’s some good news for Mr. Obama from the preliminary exit polls: voters nationally are now more likely to call themselves Democrats than Republican. The exact numbers — 4 in 10 say they are Democrats, a third say they are Republicans. That’s a change from 2004, when Democrats and Republicans each accounted for 37 percent of the electorate.
